Athletics Track
We converted London Road’s previous Redgra track into a top-level six-lane (eight-lane straight), 400-metre synthetic surface. The track is porous and, because a new drainage system was installed, it is much more resistant to the British weather.
Our athletics track in Shrewsbury meets the International Association of Athletics Federation’s standards.
Field athletes benefit from a new and improved javelin runway and a shot putt, hammer and discus area. The upgrade also included a premium long jump and high jump.
The athletics track is covered by new floodlights and surrounded by post & rail spectator fencing. There is plenty of grass space around the track where you can sit and enjoy the events on show.
Hire of our athletics track in Shrewsbury is just £5 for one hour, less for students and juniors. The track can also be booked for exclusive use and for competition half days and full days.
